Champagne may be classy, but margaritas are the life of the party. Last night at our New Year's Eve Party, these Blood and Passion Margaritas were a big hit. FYI- When you make these for your friends, be sure every time you say the word "passion", you say it in a sexy whisper. Well it was funny last night, but then again we had been drinking.
Blood and Passion Margarita
1.5 oz Blanco Tequila
1 oz Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
3/4 oz lime juice
1/2 oz Passion Fruit Syrup (Monin)
1/4 oz Campari
Shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass filled with a single large ice cube. Garnish with a lime wheel and cherry.
Before the party we met up with our friends for dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. Now this place isn't known for the best drinks, but I learned a few things. First, margaritas should never be Kryptonite Green. Second, a man should never order a Pina-Colada Margarita- unless he doesn't mind being made fun of. Lastly, if you order a margarita half frozen and half on the rocks, you can drink it faster without a brain freeze. New Year's Eve was a blast! Wishing you all a very happy New Year!
